Being born and raised in the Midwest has us right in the midst of great BBQ tradition. From Kansas City to Texas, you just can't go wrong. At SmokeHouse ICT, Chris Morgan wanted to focus on a style of BBQ not really seen in Wichita, and that is the Central Texas style that he has brought to the menu.
After more than 20 years in both sales and in the insurance industry as an Agency Manager and Agency Owner, Chris decided to finally follow his passion in the culinary world.
With training from one of the top culinary institutes in the States, he turned his focus to BBQ.
So Chris decided to launch SmokeHouse ICT as a catering business. Deviating from the local standards of KC style BBQ with dips into the Carolina and Memphis styles, Chris went with Central Texas style. He doesn't use Mesquite, he doesn't use Hickory...just Post Oak and simple rubs that allow the meats to shine.
Then he turned his attention to the sides.
Oh man the sides! True Southern sides! His promise is that EVERY side on his menus will be made from scratch. Homemade Potato Salad, Smoked Beans (yes smoked, not baked), Baked Mac and Cheese that is packed with some heat, and more!
SmokeHouse ICT began as a catering business with the goal of opening a food truck/trailer. The trailer is now up and running and who knows, eventually a restaurant and bar?
